About my Massages

I have worked in the massage field since 1990 and kinesiology since 1988 and completed my study as a remedial massage therapist in 1993 at Wellpark College, Grey Lynn, Auckland. I have done numerous massage related courses and have learned to combine these to good effect. I am learning constantly from other therapists and in particularly from my clients.

You do not have to have a problem to enjoy my massages. They are great for energising and relaxation.

I combine many of the other modalities I have learned over the last 10 years. Since every client is different there is not one single therapy that "fixes" everything. The combination of modalities and the intensities of these vary according to the need of your body. The basis of every massage is still Swedish massage thought the depth varies (this is also dependents on the pain level you can tolerate).

I start a massage session with a new client with a short medical history and question and answer session to ensures you are at ease with what is required and I need know what your requirements are. I explain what the treatment consists of.

Fascial Kinetics

With me fascial Kinetics is an essential part of the massage therapy. In Fascial Kinetics (FK) we move the thin fascial layer at particular areas of the muscle tissue to bring relaxation to muscular tissues. I learned FK from Russel Burgess in Auckland in 1996 and since then have applied FK to just about all my massage clients at the end of the session. The resulting energy allows a much greater relaxation and a much lower incidence of recurring pain. From my clients I have learned that it is better to cut the massage short by a few minutes and do the FK than leave the FK out. The body is very appreciative of FK by showing a greater relaxation and a reduction of pain.
